wondering how/if possible i can get into acr to retrieve a picture i have in there. after i opened the acr i noticed there was something else id like to touch up. didnt open it as a smart object.
when i went to file in photoshop -open as smart object,
i get the little box in the layers panel but no matter which way i click i cant get it back to acr ...hope i am making sense.
i really appreciate all the help i get here. this is definitely the most user friendly site i've found.
2. ive saved my pic in acr different times-after i touched up this or that how can i open photoshop in general so that it takes me back to acr-if that even exists to see the picture at the different processed steps.
thank you!
You should be able to open your original RAW file in ACR. It will open in the last state if you closed it or opened in PS. If you opened as a smart object in PS, the clone tool and healing brush will not work, you must rasterize the smart object first. You will have to go back to the original ACR to effect any changes.
Once you are in ACR, you can use the spot removal tool and adjustment brushes to edit your RAW file as you seem appropriate. Once you have done this, hold down the option/ alt key and select 'open as a copy'. This will open your image with any adjustments you have done in ACR while maintaining the image as it came out of the camera.
If you have PS CC, there is the Camera Raw filter which will open an ACR window. Once you have edited, click 'OK' and any adjustments will be applied to your image. This filter will work on a smart object so you can change them in the future.
Hope this helps!
The problem is I can't get it to open in acr once I opened in in Photoshop and saved it. Even if I hadn't yet saved it just exported it to open in Photoshop from acr I can't get it back in acr...
If you are in Photoshop CC and your photo is displayed:
Right click on the layer and choose "Convert to Smart Object"
Now go up to the menu bar, Filter > Camera Raw Filter
When you are finished editing in Camera Raw (ACR) click OK
ACR does not store pictures, so you can't save a picture IN acr. When you press "Save" in ACR your image is just put back on to the disc.
Wow. Thank u. Will try it.
