Thanks Phil, I'm always looking forward to the next shoot with the Eagles and if we are lucky we get about 3 week a year here.

good luck with the count at the season moves in, our best count for viewing and photos is after the rivers, lakes and ponds freeze over it forces the eagles to the dams where the faster moving water prevents the freeze. The fishing coming thru the lock are also stunned so it helps the eagles catch as well ( or so they say).
We are pretty lucky in that DOC posts a count weekly at the dams along the Mississippi so with that information and a good weather forecast you can semi pick your days and hope for a chance at good results.
There are also Eagle Watch Weekend events in towns along the river which provide extra events and entertainment to help us get past the cold.
Regardless of all of that, you only needed 1 eagle to get the picture in this case and its a beauty

Thanks for such a very well informed reply. Our eagles come through every year at about the same time. Every third year we have a "bumper" spawn of our land locked salmon and that will be next year. The news paper does a weekly count on Wednesdays but the peak seems to be every year on the week between the two holidays. I'll try and post some shot of this year soon...Ron

I love the work, the challenge and watching others such as yourself "get the shot" will be watching for your next post and pictures. My annual Eagle Watch weekend trip is planned for mid January subject to how events come together, in a normal year I will take several hundred photos over the few days. As you would expect, some are keepers and others not so much.
Wow! This is a fantastic shot, RRS!

Thanks for looking. My post didn't last long enough for many to see. Hoping for sunny sky's between Christmas and New Years as that is usually the peek week for viewing here. When the eagles are finished it's off to Yellowstone for the wolves. This is a great time of year. A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to the both of you and your family's too!
