Lumix LX3 filter

i want to attach a polarizing filter to my LX3 without adding the adapter tube made for that purpose. Somewhere I read how to fabricate an adapter that enables the filter to be attached without the hollow tube. I can't remember how to make it or where I read it. Can anybody help?

Check out the Cokin "A" filter system, it has an P&S adapter available that attaches to your tripod mount and allows easy changing if a wide variety of filters and it does not affect or restrict your kens in any way.
