KEH made me happy

i dropped my new D7100 on vacation (slipped) and it landed on the Tamron 28-300 that has been my friend for 10 years. Nedless to say, it was a bit askew but I tried to live with it by manipulating it in/out as best I could. This got old after months, so I went on line and shopped and decided to try KEH for the first time.

I replaced my lens with a newer version of the lens by Tamron, but without VR, which I can deal with for the price. It is pristine, and I feel blessed to have found it.

Price? $79.00 + $10.00 shipping! I thought it was an error and called to make sure before pushing the button. My lesson du jour - sometimes there are bargains to be found - but I did a lot of homework first. I could not talk them into free shipping even by throwing in the BH word, but I tried.

These were taken Sunday at various focal lengths of the moving model train. Tweaked very little w/Smart Photo Editor. Gentle comments welcome!

KEH is my "go to" source for a new (to me) lens. You'll save a lot and get a very good or almost new looking lens.

Thanks, B - I have told many people about my find. I tried to sell them a couple of things, but they are a bit stingy on the giving end. :)

P.S. That is quite the inventory you have there!

They look great, especially for an $80 lens. Enjoy that new lens!

Bebo1998 - Speaking as both a photography enthusiast and a former model railroader who still feels a twitch of THAT bug from time to time, these are very nice images. Congrats on the lens find! /Ralph

Nice find. I feel blessed by KEH also, got a Sigma 150-500 last week for around $600, over $1000 new. Works great, only minor cosmetic scuffs on it, glass in perfect shape. And they have a great return policy. Those images look great for a lens in that price range. I think it says something about the photographer...

Aww shucks, Sir. You sure do know how to flatter! I really think this lens is the bomb! Once I got used to the weight. Mostly I shoot hand-held, like these. I find things (or people) to balance on and keep a wrist brace on.

Just imagine how great those shots would have looked if you got the lens with the VR. Just kiddin'. You are a very smart and savvy man, bebo. Great glass for under $100 and the shots look super sharp! Also, Smart Photo Editor is the best value in PP software. Are you Scottish or just naturally smart when it comes to economics. We could use someone like you in Congress.
