Hi
So the story continues. I just posted a story about seeing my First Ever Owl. That was Yesterday. So Today we are riding around and again my husband spotted another Owl. This time I was Very quite and took my time so I wouldn't scare him. Funny thing is, he kept flying around, but it didn't seemed bothered that we were there. We were shooting from inside the car and I even got out. So we got about 500-600 shots between the 2 of us. This picture is cropped and it's when we first saw him. What a beautiful sight :-). Two days in a row now, we see owls.

thanks! today was fun because we kept following him. Kept getting his Back side, so at one point I want him to turn around, so I am waiting and say" hoo hoo hoo" my husband was laughing at me...LOL

Cassy,
Nice shot of a Barred Owl. They are fairly common in New England but always a treat to see. Their call is a little different than what you may expect. It sound more like "who-cooks-for-you" than "hoo hoo hoo". They often stay in a fairly small area during the winter so if you go back where you saw him before, he will probably be close by.

We saw a guy that lives right there too and he was on his way home. He stopped to talk to us. He said that at night they can hear more then one talking to each other. So YES we will be going back there.

We have been hearing owls behind our house for years and have yet to see/find one. Lots of trees and suspect they are small owls. Glad you had the chance to photograph one and you did a great job too!! Hope you can do it again! :-)
