Nice snow photos, but you can keep it. They say that it's very hard to take pictures in and of snow-something I don't plan to ever experience.

I really like your snow pictures. Very nice composition. To me the snow looks a little gray. Next time you get a chance to take a pic of snow try overexposing with the Fstop 2 stops. This should make your snow come out white and not hurt your pictures. This is called the zone system first created by Ansel Adams.

You don't want to overexpose a digital image! where you have overexposure it is not just loss of detail it is loss of info no info no control. What these images are really crying out for is LIGHT. Either learn to ue reflectors or learn to use flash so that at least there is something to work with. I'm not trying to be harsh or nasty, its just simply when you can't control the light, you can't control your image. Ansel Adams was superb with film but the same principles DON"T apply to digital. Ansel Adams would over expose on film and then control the image when processing the film. You can't do the same thing digitally. Sorry for the rant but to grow as a photographer you must learn to see the light and how you can control it.
Thanks, Roger

thanks for the comments--not harsh at all---that's what this site is about, for me anyway----these were shot kind of quick as i was waiting for someone--they were in a business parking lot. Yes. I should have thrown on the canon flash as you said. But i do plan to redo and send

did lighten this one also ---I don't have a fancy photo editing program-- a tad whiter!
