Just a matter of time and not unexpected.
While not that great a fan of smearing my screen, putting one on the D5500 may be a great choice.
I preferred the operation of my D5100, which uses the info screen to make most camera adjustments, over my D7000 and D800 button/little unreadable green screen approach. Advantages include:
1. You don't have to remember which button is which.
2. You can read it without reading glasses.
3. It always is bright enough to see...even in the complete dark where you can't see what button does what.
So I think this a perfect application for the touch screen!
I keep toying with the idea of getting a D5300 to replace my NEX-7 which I bought for it's light weight but don't like because I can't use my great Nikon lenses on it in full auto. This might trip me over to the D5500.
Wish they'd make it mirrorless.
Having spent time in Japan in the late 80's while working for Mitsubishi Motors, I learned that the Japanese word for the number 4 is "shi" which also means "death". Because of this the Japanese have another word for the number 4 that they use for counting people. That word is "yon". Even so 4 is considered unlucky, and you cannot buy anything packaged in 4's (dishes, cups, etc) in Japan. Some buildings do not have a fourth floor, but do have a thirteenth floor.
Great now we have to worry about our nose changing the settings when looking thru the view finder!!!
