I just bought a canon T2i body, I'm useing my older Rebel lenses (52mm) Where if I had purchased the newer lenses They'd probably have the image stableizers on them. which are (58mm). Is there much of a difference?

You don't say which lenses you have and how fast they are. Also what you are looking to get. Any lens with IS is a big help>

I have a D3100 Nikon and I use the lenses from my N50 Nikon. They are not AF or VR but they work fine. I just have to do it manually. Not a chore. It depends on what lenses you are talking about and for what purpose you are using them. Answer Erv's inquiry and you can get a little more specific assistance.

The image stabilization gives you an edge with hand held at slower shutter speeds, less chance of blur due to camera shake. Yes, technology is a fabulous thing.
The 52 and 58 refer to the filter size, I'm pretty sure.
Vibration reduction is well worth the additional cost, IMO.
There are some faster lenses that don't have it and cost an arm & leg (or two).
BTY, your topic title has nothing to do with the subject.
I think we looked, only because of the unusual name.
