Meet Sam. He's a Chocolate Lab. Sam is a rescued dog.
I met Sam at
the farm where we go to buy local grown produce. He's up in age and graying. And I wonder if he'll still be around next summer when we visit.
I shot this with my Canon EOS 50D w/EFS 17-85mm. After croping and PP w/PsE-8, I used the Graphics Pen Sketch Filter to produce this photo.
I hope you like it. Comments welcome.

:-D Thanks, Pam. Too bad you can't enlarge the avatar. Glad you like the sketch. Thanks for looking.
I certainly like this Gene. I am a huge fan of sketch processing, and you've done very well with this one.
I suppose I'm prejudiced somewhat in that one of the best dogs I ever owned was a 125 pound black Lab whose mother was one half black Great Dane. I named him Simba. He was absolutely the best trained dog I have ever had the pleasure of working with. When a dog will heel off-leash while hiking through the woods, you know he respects the training.

No prejudice expected. My grand-daughter owns a Chocolate Lab and he is so obedient all I have to do is look a certain way or give a hand signal and he acts. He is here only on occasion and it amazes me how much he respects us.
There's a garage next us that works on Fire and Emergency vehicles. We're very good neighbors but mostly, friends. The father and son each own Labs - a Black and Yellow. Since I'm retired, (and raised Siberian Huskies in my younger days) I was able to train both dogs with hand signals. The Yellow Lab stays at home now, but the Black Lab comes "to work" every day. He's "king of the neighborhood." We get a visit from him every day. He adores my wife.
You can see by my rambling that I can tell you a bunch of stories about these dogs and our relationship with them even though they aren't ours, but most passers-by think they are.
Thanks for taking time to look at this one.
I love this effect, Gene. The sketch works so well on his fur, and I do hope Sam is still there next time you visit the farm. Beautiful work.

Rescue animals make the best pets, and that just warms my heart knowing someone opened up their heart and home to him, or any rescue!!!
