Before the wedding I was asked to shoot in the Bridal Suite. The girls knew I was going to be there and did not care. They were very funny and uninhibited. The video guy was too embarrassed to enter the room. I did get some great shots. I told one girl, if I did not think the picture was appropriate I would delete it. She, standing there, in almost her birthday suit said "Now I know why I love you!!' I did completely delete many shots but it was a good pre-wedding event.

I always entered after everyone was dressed. Tried to catch putting on shoes, jewelry, that kind of stuff. I would try to get Dad and Mom in there so the Bride could put on Dad's corsage. Many times the Brides fingernails would prevent this from actually happening. So, we would stage it.
I would ask the Dad if he had any last minute advise for his Daughter. Sometimes, I would get some tears as words were spoken.

I was told, "get in the room!" I am a very accommodating person. Esp when there are 'interesting' subjects to pose' LOL.

I like the 'last word' tactic. Very sneaky of you.

This where working as a husband/wife team comes in handy. I always disappear when the girls get to bare. The #1 thing that runs in the mind of most brides as they are getting ready is, "is this guy going to leave when we are undressed". This was discussed in length on KelbyOne training videos. The best way to deal with this is early on tell the bride you will be stepping out when that time comes but by better half will remain. The brides have one less thing on their plate once you assure them of that plan.

I typically tell them, Say when you want me in or tell me to get lost. But it wasn't the bride, it was her 6 brides maids that were doing this. The bride escaped into the bathroom to get dressed.

yup I know, just talking here. What did Melissa Ethridge say, one of my favorite lines........

'Nothing stays the same as change."

I am going to cut and paste this in, another one of my favorite section of prose. From "Alligators"

Thanks!! Take care.

"The objective of all dedicated employees is to thoroughly analyze all situations, anticipate all problems prior to their occurrence, have answers for these problems, and move swiftly to solve these problems when called upon. However, it is difficult to remember that your initial objective was to drain the swamp, when you are up to your ass in alligators"

Most times, our apprentice is a woman, so she "can" stay while the bridesmaids are getting dressed. That being said, seems like they are still uncomfortable with anyone holding a camera when they are getting undressed, so we do the same "rule" Just tell us to get lost, and when someone can come back in. Like I always say, "shoot for the wall or the album" what Bride and Groom are going to want to have photos of their bridesmaids in their underwear anyway? OK, maybe the grooms, but still, don't expect to get paid for any of those shots.
