Hey, Guys, have any of you had the opportunity to try out the SLR Lounges "The Ultimate 3 DVD Workshop Professional HDR Photography Tutorial Program ?"

Last week, I had ordered from SLR Lounge this three DVD Workshop and have found it to be of exceptional quality and it is jam packed with very helpful information along with beautiful photos that Pye Jursa had taken, processed, and he even narrates this 15 hour tutorial..

For those of you who are familiar with Pye, you already know that he is an exceptional speaker and in this three DVD set of discs, he explains all procedures and all processes that one would need to know to be able to produce top notch HDR photos.

Should you decide to purchase this package, be prepared to sit back and enjoy over 15 hours of learning as the program is gauged for those who are somewhat already familiar with HDR photography, but Pye does a terrific job instructing those who would like to take their HDR photography to its limits !

In the tutorials, Pye uses Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Photomatix software as he demonstrates all of the procedures that are needed to make exceptional quality HDR images.

Thanks for the heads up, Grandpa! How much is the course? I've learned my HDR from Tony Northrup's book "SDP", Kelby's books and numerous online tutorials at B&H, Adorama and good ol' youtube. And lots of experimentation. I like your comment about taking it to the limit. An old Eagles song, right?

Yep, the Eagles recorded the song and the Eagles are one of my all time favorite groups.. "Desperado" and "Wasted Time" are also two other great songs they had recorded !

I was interested in this workshop so I followed the link to FStoppers site and it was advertised that they had one set still available so I purchased it only to be forwarded to a page to download 7 zip files. I wrote their help department to ask about when I would be receiving the DVD set and they wrote back:
Because the quality of the downloads are so high, we were unable to fit the files onto a DVD. You can easily transfer the files onto additonal computers or an iPad.

this doesn't sound right and is not what they advertised on the website... sounds like they only had one set left so they opened it up, copies the files to zip and are selling them that way... any suggestions as to what recourse I have?

If you have a dvd drive on your computer, it likely will burn dual layer DVDs, which hold about 8.5 gig. You can find them at any Best Buy, Staples, Office Max/Depot, etc. Hopefully, the videos are mpeg or mov (etc), which you can drag and drop into almost any dvd burning software. As you add the 7 files, the software will tell you if you exceed the capacity of the DVD in your burner. That will give you the option of burning more than one DVD. If you don't have dual layer DVDs, a single layer DVD holds 4.7 gig. Once again, the software (assuming you can load the 7 videos individually) will tell you when you've selected too much. So, you can burn videos 1-3 on DVD1, 4-5 on DVD2, 6-7 on DVD3. You get the picture. Don't forget to close out the DVD at the end of the burn so you can play it on any DVD player or computer. PM me if you have any questions. We can also talk about your options if you don't have a DVD burner.

I just went to the Amazon ad and read a couple reviews. The first reviewer stated that the disks were DVD-ROM, which aren't compatible with an over a TV DVD player. Interesting.
