I've seen so many vaiations on his name.
Cool guy, met him once. I think others here have taken workshops with him.
Good question you had about what image one will be remembered for.

Hello everybody. Been lurking in the shadows for awhile but never commented until now.
I just saw this about Ansel Adams and thought I should share some news in our local paper just yesterday. I live in a small town in Southern Illinois with a population of just over 15,000 but we have a world class museum and art center here and they are having Ansel Adams display from Feb 20 thru May 6th.
