This is a natural rock sculpture along the Buffalo National River here in north central Arkansas. The locals call it "Elephant Head Rock."

Just remember, this part of the river is not accessable by boat in low water. You would have to take a canoe or kayak downstream and that is about a 2 day float.
Later I will post another pic from this stretch of the river taken on a foggy morning.

There are a lot of caves along the Buffalo, but most are off limits due to some bat disease.

Ever see the movie "Decent" or "Trog"? I will never go in a cave any further than I can see the entrance and run out in less than a second or two.
First the picture is great we have a rock formation here in the Black Hills on the way up to Mount Rushmore that Looks like a part off a male, and the bat disease is called White Nose and there must be a lot of it all across the USA, the USFS has taken to closing a lot of the mine shafts around the hills in fact they closed one right as you go out of Rochford posted it as a no entry and then a month later brought up heavy equipment and closed off the entrance with boulders and dirt. I wonder if it is really the bats or just a way to start closing of a lot of places so they dont have to be responsible for watching out over them, makes their jobs easier.
Not sure I'd want to go caving and end up with rabies or some other kind of disease.
like it ---i see a head with an eye and the nose buried in the trees
When a friend of mine told me that we going to motor up to "Elephant Head Rock" and start fishing from there, I asked how far up the river it was. He said I'd know when we got there. Then I seen this and just had to take a picture.
I thot it looked like an elephant at first glance
so this is in Mt. Home?
What an appropriate name. First the government takes our tungsten bulbs away from us. Now caves? What's next?LOL Please, no answers. Ray
