Frank, you have some really great shots here, wonderful colors. Only thing I might suggest - you seem to be listing to port (shots look tilted to the left). If you have PP software that can level some of them up it can make a great difference. If not, no harm, no foul as they are still beautiful captures.

I think what you are seeing is an optical illusion created by the water in the lake. The water on the port side is close to the camera and the lake itself extends farther out to the center and starboard side. However, I was standing on a slight hill rising higher to right side and I might have been a little tilted. It wouldn't be the first time.
:D :D

I've learned two things chasing sunsets:
1- The best show sometimes is after the sun is over the horizon. So I usually stay as long as I possibly can.
2- Don't forget to look behind you, sometimes the view in the east can also be quite interesting, being illuminated by the soft glow of the setting sun.
#s 5,7 & 8 are favorites.

Thanks R'laine. I just kept clicking away with my camera as the scenery kept changing.

You are absolutely correct. Sometimes the show isn't over until it is completely dark. Years ago I was duck hunting on the Missouri R. and when the sun began to set it illuminated the clouds a brilliant red from the west horizon to the east horizon. Although I have seen many beautiful sunsets I have (so far) never seen anything like that again.
