Okay so for months now I have been reading UHH, researching, practicing w/ digi photo applications, checking links given, which usually lead to the viewing of another link then back to UHH to remember what it was I went looking for to start with. All in good fun

Now I have thrown myself back into the pack of wolves with a 1 year ad contract and again found myself lost reading, researching, checking links,,,,,

Someone mentioned camera slings, backpacks, tripods, I go research quality, comments, prices.

So To whomever it was a few days ago, that had mentioned the "Think tank" line, I want to thank you I just spent a little bit on some more gear to protect my gear.

question is when its delivered, how do I get it in the house without having to answer why I need another camera bag. Why do I need a harness, isnt the one I made good enough? I can hear the questions coming now and its not even here yet.

Maybe I should go buy him some chrome for his bike, yes?

Anyways,,,, all in good humor, Thank you all for your imput, helping, kind words, even the occassional harsh words, ( its all learning process every day with everyone) the little laughs and the big laughs I have gotten from this forum.

( I should clarify no one has been harsh to me yet that I know of, if and when it happens I will take it and learn from it.)

See ya'll around

Do what I do.... sneak it into the house and bring it out later and when asked say "ohh this old thing? it was in the closet, I forgot I had it"

Works for camera gear, shoes, books, fancy tea and video games.

Here is my take on this subject.

If you are married to a good, kind, loving and giving husband. . .you do not need to hide things from him, nor lie to him. If you do, he just might leave you.

If you hide things from your husband and lie to him, and get away with it. . .you might be married to a stupid, uncaring husband. In which case, maybe you should leave him.

And, least we not forget: Every wife that hides things from her husband and lies to her husband is also teaching her children to be the next generation of young people unable to sustain a true and loving relationship with a spouse. It goes without saying that this applies equally to lying husbands and fathers.

Be upfront with you spouse. It has always worked for me.

Wow I guess some people can't take a joke and take things way to seriously. Yes I hide shoe purchases from my husband, it's an on going joke between us. Camera gear not so much, hard to hide $1,000+ purchase.

Same here. Can't imagine an alternative that would work for us.

Cheers,

Place it on the coffee table. When he comes home from work, be enthusiastic with your thanks and praise to him for ordering this beautiful new equipment for you. Have a wonderful dinner already prepared as a return sort of favor and hope it works. Otherwise, I'm in the Appalachians too so if we aren't too far apart you can come and hide out here for a few days until he cools down! :) :)

I would say a great dinner, a little wine, a sexy outfit, oh wait thats the show I am watching! Just buy it for him. He can carry your gear. :-D But really, I just tell the wife, she knows how much I love the hobby. That and we have been married 40 years helps.

Does he remember every single anniversary (first date, first vacation, etc.)?

If not:
Sneak it into the house. When he's away, put the box and some wrapping paper on the table, as if you just opened a gift. When he comes home and sees it, give him a big hug, saying "thank you - you remembered!" He'll be thinking so hard to try to remember what he forgot, he won't care about the bag.

Okay so for months now I have been reading UHH, re... (show quote)

Not only am I a wannabe photographer, I am a fisherman so I tell my wife that I can never have TOO much equipment sometimes it works and sometimes I sleep with the dogs. But I tell her a couple days after I get what ever it is. Just my two cents worth

agreed MWAC,

But guys think about it I was joking around, this is a man who I know when he comes home goes straight to the garage he has bought more chrome, says its easier to see outside. But he doesnt come in like a puppy dog wagging his tail saying guess what I just got he waits until its already on the bike and says "well how do you like it"

we dont hide things from each other, after all these years we know each orthe quite well..... okay chrome works for me.
