Attempted BIF (geese) today. Looks like I need a lot of practice

Always admire the beautiful BIF pictures seen on UHH and decided to give it a try. My results leave much room for improvement. Considerable cropping. No other pp except conversion to jpeg.
P mode iso 400 D3200 Nikon 55-300 DX bright early afternoon sunlight
Tough part is exposure. It is very hard to expose properly for the body of the bird when it is flying in a bright sky.

Agreed, think I will try again on an overcast day to see if that helps.

Try shooting early while the sun is low. You'll get light on the bottom of the geese. Same thing at sun down.
