I'm not sure if this is a scam or not but will give you the benefit of the doubt. You can't blame anyone in todays world for being at least a little suspicious. Heck I've got a nephew I wouldn't trust any further than a you know what and I've known the little jerk for several years. One way to put others at ease is to stick around and participate. I for one am looking at this kind of set up but have not decided exactly which camera to go with otherwise I too would have an interest providing the price was fair and reasonable. Your assumption is correct that a venue such as this is a good place to offer what you have, but not seeing the products or knowing anything what so ever about you is reason enough to proceed with caution.
I've been a member here for some time and have not sold anything but if I did I couldn't blame anyone for asking questions simply because I do not have a track record. Either way my best to you.

What is the store's return / refund policy? Can you return it rather than selling it for a loss?

FYI I was told I was out of the return window but I made a request to return. So far I've received no answer and doubt I will. Time will tell. Worth a try.
