ZereneStacker (with StackShot control) now runs on Linux

The current beta version of ZereneStacker now supports Linux! The first Linux based version was released about 3 weeks ago, and the latest just a few days ago. Everything is essentially the same with the Linux version (Rik Littlefield says it's about 98% the same code in all versions). So the only thing "rough" about the beta version is the OS interface. It can run on 32 bit or 64 bit systems, and can be adapted to virtually any Linux distribution.

Besides being very nice to stack macro images, it is super fabulous as a computer interface to the StackShot motorized focusing rail from Cognisys. Unfortunately, while there is a batch mode for image stacking, there is no batch mode for control of the StackShot. But the good news is that the interface for configuring the StackShot controller is about 4 million times friendlier than direct use of the StackShot controller!

And the interface to Linux is indeed fairly rough. I've worked out smooth ways around all the grit though. Anyone who wants to use ZereneStacker under Linux should send me a PM and I'll provide all the latest info.

Here are three images showing the three windows available for controlling the StackShot. It's pretty easy to see the advantage!
