The hardest part of making a stereogram is making the depth map. I can find depth map generators for Windows but not for Mac. I made this one of my 40D by hand. In #1 the lens barrel looks round but at the wrong angle. In #2 it looks flat but does go from body to lens front. Note that the background is a pile of cameras.
Which do you prefer?
I am assuming that you can see the image in 3d. ;-)
40D-1
40D-2
After considerable trial and error (mostly error) I made an acceptable depth map. The lens barrel is still a little "lumpy" but it better than before.
Has anyone else tried stereograms?

I can see it after looking at it.
I have no way to help someone else see the effect.
I can't tell much difference between them. They are too similar for me.
After going back and looking again, The first and last ones look similar in the detail in the top area. Looks like buttons across the upper area.

Edit: I can see it after looking at it.
LOL.....I'm not even going to change it..............
Number three is much better than the other two, especially the rendering of the lens.
This is really trippy. Thanks for the new perspective.
These are really neat. I tried stereo photos with my D40 but only stereoscope viewable ones.
O.k. Very good. I tried staring at the centers for 30 seconds and I did not see a sailing ship or Micky Mouse's. head pop out in 3D. What am I doing wrong? Lol. Good work!

cross your eyes and stare at it and let your eyes go back slowly . It will pop out at ya . The first three , i can see the shape , just would have never guessed what it was . I think the last one i got .
Actually, you need to focus on something beyond the monitor. If you cross you eyes you will be focusing in front of the monitor.
Also, if you look very closely above the picture, it tell you what it is. ;-)
