Delaware River, looking south from Penn's Landing
Great composition with impact. I like it a lot.
Nice B&W. Don't think that it would have the same effect in colour.

   Nice job! Thanks for showing.
Love this B&W. Very dramatic with the deep blacks. Wouldn't work as well in color. Reminds me of some of the Ansel Adams work. Maybe could have taken a range of shots on a tripod with different exposure and combined them to even out the highs and lows - that would be an interesting experiment.
Thanks to all for the comments. I would've taken some bracketed shots and brought them into Photomatix, but as I was just walking around without a tripod, it was not an option.
You are right there. When I do this to insure exact overlay I lock up the mirror and use a cable or remote shutter release. I would like a carbon-fiber tripod but a good one costs a fortune. I only have studio grade tripods and they are heavy.
I have a very good car-fib tripod, but on this day, I was just walking around the area while waiting to meet some friends for lunch, then heading off to a concert to do some shooting. No room for a tripod!
