Samsung P&S problem

My two year old Samsung point and shoot, which I use when I want to travel light, will retain only one image on the memory card. I have reformatted the card, tried two different cards, run the battery flat and used the "reset" on the camera itself, all to no avail.
Any ideas for a possible simple fix? The cost of repair plus shipping make it unworthwhile.

wondering if it is saving to internal memory rather than to the card? I suspect not since you reset the camera (I am assuming to factory settings?)
Take the card out. try shooting and see if it allows a picture. Depending on file size, it may only take one picture. I have had a couple of point and shoot cameras that behaved that way.
You can go through the option menu to see if it directs the shot to memory card or internal memory.

There's not much online about this, although some people do have that problem. Let us know how this turns out.
