I was playing with this shot in Topaz and thought I'd post it. It's kind of dead in here.
The guys from the Southwest will have to pickup the slack because of the weather.

I think I'll agree, a little over the top on the PP. I may enhance the contrast just a little, and the sharpening just a tad also, and leave it at that... I like it to look as natural as possible. You'll love that 150-600!

Thank you Gary,
Yes the gear I have today is not really up to the task of quality Astrophotography. Next week I'll really cut loose with the 150-600mm. Moon and deep Sky work.

Thanks DL, I keep that in mind. I don't plan on working the stuff I have any more. I'm planning ahead with techniques for the 150-600.

OH what the heck, I tried to to sweeten the Contrast and Sharpening a little.

We will have to trade notes on the deep sky work. I have seen and use Bruce Wong's set-up for the moon, I need to learn the deep sky set-up and how to find constallions and things like the Orion nebula as well. Looking forward to your posts with the T 150-600. Gary

I'd like to see your original image, with no processing at all, and then maybe the croped version, also with no processing.

I think considering what the original is, you did pretty good! Not sure if I could do any better! Again, you'll love that 150-600. But for any deep sky stuff, you'll need a drive. I think you have something already, if I remember?

Yes I do have a drive . It's from a Celestron DS 4.5" refractor and I made a piece of 1.5"x10" steel stock into a mounting bracket with 1/4" and 3/8" holes.
