This one may look better in color, but I love black and white.
My main issue with the black and white shot is that it just doesn't 'POP'. Any thoughts?

I am not a portrait photographer, but have you tried lightening and increasing the contrast. How did you convert it to B&W. If you are using the hue saturation slider try increasing your reds in levels. Some times that gives it a bit more pop.
