I have a 7D and was wondering if anyone has had experience with the Hoodman products over the viewing screen. Is it a bother or worth getting?

When I remember to carry mine (yet another gadget to stuff in the bag) I find it quite useful in situations where there is bright ambient light.

Need to replace mine. The pup got it while in the back seat and it was toast. :( --

I have one and it stays put.
I like having the light seal around my aiming eye and the view finder.

Good to know.
Now I can get one for my wife for Christmas for her camera. She has me relegated to using the 10D.

They make a larger one, for the bigger preview screens- get the smaller hard sided one! The larger one, while it indeed is sized to fit the entire screen, if not placed exactly right, covers the *&^%$#&*^% controls.

On a beach, or in a studio situation, where it is difficult to check for focus etc., it is in invaluable, as it is impossible to view anything in bright light situations.
