Here are a few shots of Winters gone by along the coast in Washington and Hancock counties. The boats are shrouded in "sea-smoke" at sunsrise(temp -15F and winds at 20 knots NW dir). This year it's been milder.

P.S. These were all taken with a Kodak DC290 in 2004. 3.3 MP! Cost me $900 in 1998!
The first one is really great!!!! Like the others too, but love the first one. Good shooting!
Of course, I love lobster boats.
#1 and 2 give you that erie feeling, like them very much. I think they would look great with a touch of HDR---ever consider that???
I am asking because I don't Know What is HDR? I have a Kodak DX7590 do these have HDR and where would I find it?.
These are not HDR. I used a Kodak DC-290 camera. It had all of 3.3 MP's. I have 2 now and occasioanlly use them but rarely. I don't think HDR became a buzz-word until perhaps 3 years ago.
I am glad you liked them.

I love the contents...steamed and smothered in butter or a sweet juicy lobster roll!
In the good ol' Summertime, there are lobster boat races. I've been too a couple. Wicked exciting.

HDR is a process by which a minimum of 3 photographs of the same scene is taken to capture shadow(blacks), mid-tones (greys) and highlights (whites). Some cameras allow bracketing which then can be post-processed. A thing to remember is that the scenes must be 100% identical in content. DOF must also remain constant throughout. So in aperture priority, the f-stop is unchanged but either with bracketing or manual control, the shutter speed is increased/decreased. I am unsure i your camera can bracket or not. HDR, I believe, is available on some newer D-SLRS by several manufactures.
If you are interested further in HDR, go to the top of this page and search UHH--type in HDR. Most likely you will find more information from more knowledgeable than I am.
Great pictures, love the sea smoke, it makes the pictues.
Thank you for your warm comment.
Was #3 taken on Beals Island? It looks like Jonesport in the distance.
Love these photos! #1 is great, but #2 is my favorite. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot sea smoke yet.
Very nice. 1 is killer good!
