Nicely done. You've managed to keep some detail in the white feathers which can be difficult to do. You might want to bring up the background with fill light in Post Processing. Wish you hadn't cut off his feet, though

yup, but it is still nice to see where they are. It is something that is a general rule for birds, animals or people. Don't cut them off at the ankles! ;)

Thank you!! Will try not to make the same mistake twice. I don't have Photoshop so it's kinda like I can only deal with what came out of the camera

Very nice. Getting the shot right the first time eliminates the need for post processing.

Very true!! I will indeed pay more attention to detail, it is the essence of photography from my viewpoint. I am a member of a photography club and too many of the images are seriously photoshopped. I don't have an issue with photoshop, but sometimes there are image components layered, stretched, warped, colored, etc that in my opinion are computer generated images and may not have come from the photographers cameras but from a collection of parts and pieces.
