It looks like a type of wildflower that grows here on the coast.This is a beautiful, clear shot, Earl, and I'm going to tell Santa to bring you an Aussie flower ID book for Christmas. :-D

Lol. I love to shoot them if they look pretty or unusual, but I don't really give a hang what they are called, whether it be a Pahlia or a Dansy :lol: :lol:

It is unusual and a lovely colour,I bet when all those little flowers open it will look beautiful. Nice shot. :-)

It bears a close resemblance to Brazilian Verbena (Verbena bonariensis). Attached are a couple of examples. Your flower appears to have bloomed itself about out...the spent blooms that form the masses underneath the blooms are not usually evident in early stages of blooming. Hope these help...not sure that this flower is native to your country.
