Yet we are really small. Not very significant. I wonder what UFO aliens think of us. I think they think we are a dirty planet and not one to make contact with.

we are legends in our own minds. and some think god made all that and only put life on our planet, and started with just two people.

The conclusion the video promotes is mindbogglingly stupid.

If the universe stretches out infinitely in all directions, there is no center--OR any given point can be considered "the center". Furthermore, "center" signifies a single, one-dimensional point. Size is irrelevant.

Regarding size, an infant is insignificantly small compared to an oil tanker, and yet the infant is far more beautiful, complex, and, at least to its parents, important than any number of oil tankers.

The whole universe and all of its astrophysics are simple compared to the human mind.

If you want to stick with a materialist paradigm, then in terms of complexity, humans are the pinnacle of creation. We have not found anything else like us. We comprehend the magnitude of the universe while it mindlessly follows its deterministic course.

A whole universe cannot write even a simple poem.

The conclusion the video promotes is mindbogglingl... (show quote)

The human mind is a wonder to behold, indeed, but its big flaw is that it has yet to figure out how to stop killing others with similar minds, so humankind can live among themselves in peace.

Universes do not write poems. That is a self-centered human activity.

This amazes me- The oldest religion on earth-Hinduism, which some scholars say began as early as 1850 BC holds that the universe began as an infinitesimally tiny mass of energy, suddenly burst into an ever expanding universe.

I guess in the world's oldest religion there is no dispute between science and religion.

Being small does not automatically equate to insignificance. I believe that the fact that we are aware of exactly how small we are is a good sign that our intelligence is quite significant. I am a rather large person. I would never make the mistake of thinking I am necessarily more significant than smaller people. It is all a matter of degrees and even moreso, or relevance of the ruler we are using to measure.

Actually, you have your facts wrong. He/She started with one person and a rib.

Begs the question, which came first, the person or the rib??

In this case, one could argue that science got the idea of the Big Bang from the world's oldest religion.

Good point. Babies are the smallest and most lovable among us.
