Question on store original?

When we post a photo thru (store original) I understand there is data that will tell you much about the photo, so my question is: What program are people using to see the data? From what I see on my computer, when I click on Image Properties, is this the data you are looking at, or are you looking at File Properties or both?

Thanks

Yes. In properties, there are 3 tabs: general, security, details. Below is part of what you see in details.

Not all downloadable images on UHH will show this exif data (some programs offer the option of erasing it). Click the download link, and when the image opens larger in another screen, right-click it and save to your computer. Then right-click for properties.

If you use Google Chrome as your browser, there is a good exif viewer extension called simply Exif Viewer. you can find it here.

I just read user reviews at this link and there are a lot of users claiming it does not work.

Besides a pat answer "Google EXIF" what are the applications that UHH members are using for Internet Explorer that does not involve saving the photo to your computer?

I use this link which lets you look at the exif online or download and look at it on your computer. It's a very versatile little site.
http://regex.info/exif.cgi - and you don't have to install anything on your computer to use it.

I just tested this out. Copy the photograph's UHH http address into the url block of the app and it works well. More info than you shake a stick at. Tried it with a Nikon file and a Sony file. Thanks a lot.

Looks like you have a lot of info to fill in the blanks on your question.

Remember however, that if you have any concern about theft of your image, by storing original, you have given people the "full" amount of detail on your image, the same as you have it stored in your computer.

Ripe for copyright violation and theft, in a public setting where you would have trouble tracking such theft.

Image thieves scan these sites. No one has to be a member to download your "original" methinks. I could be wrong, but do you know?

YES!!!!

I just logged out and came back to UHH without logging in. I CAN download images that are posted "Original" and can download them at the original size as posted WITHOUT being a member of the site.

The image I downloaded was over 5 Megabytes.

Slight oversight on the makeup of the site. I should think downloading images would be restricted to "members only and ONLY when logged in".

Open for Theft. UHH.
