I am looking for some Good Headphones that would go over my ears. I would like a good value and on sale around $100.00. Can someone give me some ideas? Let me know what you are using that you like or don't like

For video recording or listening to music?
My head phones are considerably more than your limit, but if I was in the market for sub $100 over ear headphones I would seriously consider the Sony MDR-7506 which had msrp of 150 but are available all over the net for under 100. cnet picked them two years in a row.

Thank you so much for the information.

In wireless mode, each earpiece has individual tone and volume control, and balance control for the overall experience, wireless mode is also an amplified mode if required. Range approx. 50 metres (55 yards)
In wired mode (3mm jack) all controls are from the source.
Battery life continuous about 8 hours, recharge in about 5 hours from flat.
I have worn headphones for music, TV and computers for many years and these are the best ever. Cost £100 UK, probably less than $100 USA (everything electrical seems cheaper in USA).

Check out the Grado SR80i.
EXCELLENT sound reproduction with just 2 drawbacks; the speakers spin around twisting the cords, and the open air design allows outside noise in.
Otherwise, VERY good for the money... $99.00

I did a quick search, but I didn't see a U. S. seller. Amazon UK has them, though, and I've bought from them before. I'm not necessarily going to buy them, but I wondered who might be selling them.
The reviews are great.

The answer to almost every question is: "It depends".
You can get excellent basic headphones for a lot less than $100. Sony has a number of models at Amazon that are less than $20 even. Most of us "older" folks have far less hearing ability than what would require very expensive headphones.
However - there are specialty headphones for specific applications. For someone who flies a lot and would like to listen to music in an airplane there are noise-cancellation headphones which are very nice. For someone who listens to music on their smartphone or computer there are Bluetooth headphones which do not require a cable going to the device (assuming it is Bluetooth-enabled).
But one current trend is putting celebrity names on a $40 headphone and selling it for $250.
Search your options on Amazon, and you will see that there are lots of good headphones which are not expensive. Koss is always a very good and reasonable brand, and I have been impressed with their customer service - my trusty old headphones started delaminating the rubber cushions, and when I contacted Koss they sent me a new pair of cushions for $5.
AND - if meant as a gift - it is always safe to give a gift card to Amazon with a note saying that it is for headphones! You can't go wrong with that!
You'd have to fight to get my Bose headphones away from me. LOL These are not the fancy-schmancy $300.00 ones.........I got the $139.00 ones. Nice cushiony over-the-ear ones that really do block out most of the outside racket. The sound is amazing. Well, at least *I* think so.
 I use these and are completely satisfied. B&H has them. Sony 7506
I also have always enjoyed the Sony headphones. Once in particular, I watched Lonesome Dove with my Sony headphones and was amazed at how clear the sound was and how it picked up the slightest little sounds you wouldn't hear watching it without them.

I have been a Sennheiser headphone user for 25+ years. Being a part time musician and music buff, excellent sound reproduction is an absolute must. I have a set that costs around your price range though I've had them about 5 years....Sennheiser HD555. Good luck on your search. 8-)

Sennies are EXCELLENT... but most are expensive though you DO get what you pay for.
But the problem with open air designs is you get quite a bit of environmental noise in with the desired sound. That's my biggest beef with Grado's, which are as good sonically as Sennheiser's at every price point.
Either way you can't go wrong, but you CAN get into Grado's for less than $100. ;)
