I would like to know when it will be released, how is the performance and can you use extenders with it and still use auto focus?
It's already been released, actually inspected one to-day, beast of a lens, heavy as shit. Not for everyone.

I have been using one for over two weeks, they are great. I do not use it with TC's. The compatible TC's from Sigma are not yet available anyway.

Stores in your neck of the woods must open very early! ;-)

Are you happy with it?
Absolutely!
Its heavy because of the weather sealing and the Pro build quality, but that's EXACTLY why I wanted it.

Any word on the Contemporary version's release date and pricing for us mere mortals?

$1099, should be released for pre-order in January (maybe February). Demand for the Sport version has been much higher than Sigma anticipated and production of that model is delaying the Contemporary versions release until adequate manufacturing room is available.
Sharp lense, it works with the canon1.4 converter on the mark 5d lll. Use it on a monpod. Excellent ,I am happy with Sigma 150-600 lenes

MT - I know you are a Nikon shooter, how does this lens work with AF-C? I do a lot of motorsport photography, and with new expected safety rules for togs in my part of the world, I may need to go for this longer reach.
Saying that too, I DO like dropping shutter speeds and then panning, and I was wondering if the AF-C response would be quick enough?
I'll post some shots somewhere else so that I am not photo bombing someone else's topic...
