A young woman was about to finish her first year of  college. Like so many
others her age, she considered herself to be very liberal, and among other
liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more
government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch conservative, a
feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for  years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on
the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her  father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let
him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"
She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes,
she never studies and she  barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on
campus; college for her is a blast.  She's always invited to all the parties and lots of  times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."

Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office
and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only
has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would
be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired
back, "That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair!  I've worked really hard
for my grades!  I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey
has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my
tail off!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the
conservative side of the fence."

I got an email similar to this awhile back. It was where a professor decided to try something like this out with his class. So for being fair everyone would take the tests and then the grade of all tests would be averaged out and everyone would reiceve that grade. A couple of months into the semester many students were very upset that they were failing the class after studying so hard.

Great story. I'm surprised most Colleges havent tried this already since colleges are probibly 95 percent liberal anyway. There would be a big uproar from the mostly liberal students.

"The Americans with No Abilities Act" (AWNAA)

Washington , DC September 30, 2011, - The Obama Administration is urging
Congress and the Senate to pass sweeping legislation that will provide new
benefits for many Americans: The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA).
President Obama said he will sign it as soon as it hits his desk.

The AWNAA is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the
millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.

"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive
necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society,' said
California Senator Barbara Boxer. "We can no longer stand by and allow
People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. "With this legislation,
employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of
workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing.
"We are legalizing another protected class of Americans."

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D)
and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) pointed to the success of the US
Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity
without regard to performance. Private-sector industries with good records
of nondiscrimination against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the
airline industry (68%), and home improvement "warehouse" stores (65%). At
the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has an
excellent record of hiring Persons of Inability (a whopping 83%).

Under The Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million "middle man"
positions will be created, with important-sounding titles, but little real
responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given so as to
guarantee upward mobility for even the most inept employees. The legislation
provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant
number of Persons of Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a
tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one
clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNAA contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to
discriminate against the Non-abled, banning, for example, discriminatory
interview questions such as, "Do you have any skills or experience that
relate to this job?"

"As a Non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have
something going for them," said Ken Jagoff, who lost his position as a
lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint , Michigan , due to his inability
to remember "righty tightie, lefty loosey." "This new law should be real
good for people like me," Jagoff added. With the passage of this bill,
Jagoff and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at
the end of the tunnel.

Said Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), "As a Senator with no abilities, I believe
the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to
every American with no abilities. "It is our duty as lawmakers to provide
each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy, with
some sort of space to take up in this great nation and a good salary for
doing so."

Do we really have to spread the political lies, innuendos and half truths here also . Not everyone walks on water like some of you, i didn't realize we had such a " CLASS " society. Next time you need assistance with " ANYTHING ", remember, your perfect and can do it yourself.

Geez, it was a joke. No wonder the country is so screwed up. Nobody can laugh much any longer. So sensitive. Must be too close to home for a chuckle I guess.

Wow, you have guts!
Do you really believe that only conservatives are hard workers!
That is the biggest problem between the two political parties. Nobody believe them anymore because of all the lies.

Love the humor, to bad it is offensive to some. If we can't laugh at our politicians...look at Jon Stewart on the Daily Show
he makes a good living pounding on mostly conservative politicians.

Actually, in the section you referenced it is the liberal daughter who is stating she has worked her tail off, she simply does not wish to share her hard earned GPA with her friend. 8-)

Yes, a joke it was, but I can actually imagine such an act being introduced in congress. 8-)

I understand that, but it does not matter being liberal or conservative. You will always find hard workers and who do not. Both are located in each camp and I beieve in sharing, because we all depend on each other, but not what the father is suggesting. That was humor with a favorable polital color.
