Nice shots Gary... if you had any troubles doing the Moon shoot, excluding seeing conditions, you will slowly develop your techniques for photographing the Moon... it took me a while to get my techniques honed... also developing your PP skills on the Moon will also bring out finer details in the lunar surface. I have been shooting "JPG" but I am going to start shooting "RAW" files which will increase the quality of the photos... much more imbedded info in RAW files...

Bruce, Thanks. I had trouble with the magnifier, so I reduced the focal length to 250 and cropped my images. I do shoot RAW, but did minimal PP, sharpening and cropping only. I will post my original (1/60 sec). I had trouble with metering, so I started changing the shutter speed until I got what I liked, notice the 1/60 vs. 1/250. I ended up focusing through the view finder, need more work with the magnifier. I also tried to get HDR shoots, but the moon moved in all three shoots taken back to back, so will try that as well in the future. BTW, I posted in the Pics section and have given you credit for the set-up. I am also impressed with the Kenko extenders. I just need more practice, but very happy with what I got last night. Thanks again. Gary

Gary, I don't use any metering... I turn AF and auto exposure off and shoot strictly manual... I do leave the Image Stabilization turned "ON" and depress the camera button halfway down to activate "IS" to steady the Moon image for focusing... it is a technique that I had to develop and practice to get good enough at it to improve my Moon shots... I haven't tried "HDR" yet but that is next... it should also help with my Moon photo details...
