Not sure what happened with the first one. Uploaded and got a couple comments from the "new entry" section but I never did see it in the critique section. Regardless, with the comments I did receive I reworked the 41 photo stack down to 4 using the multiply tool in StarStax and I'm quite happy with the results but I just may be a little partial. What are your thoughts?

I like this but do not understand the technique. It is very different, and I like it a lot. The contrast of the red foreground with the milky way in the background looks great. I am really not qualified to give a better critique.

It did appear big-guy http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-262932-1.html

I do much prefer this version, not knowing too much about things astronomical I will say that the rocks in this one look very "nebulous" and in tune with the stars.

Graham.

Though I have never done this type of photography, I do enjoy looking at it. I think this one is much more pleasing to study, and the stars are no longer so overpowering as they were in the first version. The motion is hinted at but is much more subtle. While I would probably not have chosen the red toning, I think it does work and demands some attention to the nice rock formations. Hope you'll keep sharing, maybe you'll encourage some other night photographers to join in!

Hi, Big Guy,Thanks for posting this revised version.
I do, indeed, prefer it to the original, the rocks and sky feeling more naturally complementary.

Thank you all for your comments. It's funny, in daylight everyone (almost) loves the red rocks but when shown at night it throws them for a loop but it seems that is temporary and in the end they enjoy it. Thanks again all.
