Welcome, # 1 Covered bridge is an interesting subject. It would be a great introductory image for a series about the covered bridge in winter. I would recommend taking a multitude of shots from different angles, some close-ups, include people or animals in the shot. The next time it snows get there early morning or late afternoon. Shoot it if there is ice, if it is foggy or wet with rain.
#2 is a learning experience. I assume your subject was the icicles. 1st the house looks tilted next to the left edge of the photo. 2nd The first thing you eye sees is the downspout..not what you wanted. 3rd the icicles are lost against the white of the house. A close up of the an icicle might have made a more interesting image. I hope this is helpful. Good shooting
