November snow

Just bought Lightroom, so am experimenting/learning. Took a shot this morning of snow on an oak branch just to work on in Lightroom. Converted to B&W and tweaked some more...even added some grain.
Thoughts anyone?
Second photo also got some PP...one of the ladies that lives in the woods around here. As a rule, the men come and go.

#1 - I like your composition and the vignette, and the b&w. Overall it seems very dark, though. Would be interested in a brighter version :)

Before I read Linda's comment, I was thinking the same thing. Really interesting and pretty but perhaps a tad brighter. (for no.1).

I tried to "lighten" it up a bit, but just didn't look right to me....

...might be that it was backlit by the sun.... an hour later, the snow was gone so couldn't get a later in the day/different lighting....

In Photoshop Elements 12:

one-click auto-levels, then layer of hue/saturation where I de-saturated the blue (it could go even further, I see now), then layer of brightness/contrast. Upped the contrast even more than the brightness. Thanks!

you are welcome, and thanks to you...will work on that same technique. As I said, I was working in Lightroom...will also try PSE12

Never really cared for vignette photos that fade of into white but this one works pretty well. Nice effort.
