Rockville Stone Arch Bridge

Said to be the longest stone arch RR bridge in the world. Crosses the Susquehanna River above Harrisburg, PA. Carries freight only. Enjoy these pictures, I hope they due it justice.

Completed in 1902 by the Pennsylvania Railroad it is the longest stone masonry rail viaduct in the world. Forty eight, seventy foot spans and measures 3,820 feet in length.

Thank you for looking and the added history. Three freight trains crossed in the short time I was on the river bank.

Thank you for your kind remarks. Around Harrisburg, there seems to be lots of paintings of the bridge but not many pics.
