Nice clean stack on the first shot.
Torn on the second, but it looks pretty cool almost like melted candle wax.
Nice job Craig.

Thanks on #1 and sorry I did not explain what I was doing to #2.
Image #2 shows nebulosity of dust clouds and gas well in the central core of orion, to quote Bruce.
Some time I have to sacrifice some of the quality in total to show something else.
Shot is a Hubble shot I was trying to emulate.

I didn't say it was bad, just that I was a bit torn only because I didn't know what you were doing. That said, thanks for the explanation and it makes much more sense now and I can see what you were trying for. Funny I hadn't seen that Hubble shot before. It is different.
I still say nice shots on both. ;)

Thank you Jim, I am off the wall at times, should have explained my method in the beginning. But I do appreciate any comments.

Don't worry. I don't get offended very easily.
How did you do with Jupiter?

Fell asleep at 2:00AM. I'm going to try again tonight or Thurs AM actually.

I hope you were inside! Brrr or at least here it would have been.
I shot a few but I really think my 7D is on its last legs. I want to try both Orion and Jupiter with my 5D hopefully tonight as well.
Good luck!

It's been 55* at night here and I was all bundled up. My dog woke me up just before sunrise. He could not figure out what I was doing sleeping in the patio chair.
Craig
Sorry to hear that about your 7D.

It's been in the 20's here. I bet he used his cold nose on you. ;)

PP in Lightroom, Topaz Details3 and Clarity.[/quote]
Both shot with Nikon D600 and Meade 8" 2000mm f/10 as Prime Focus.
#1 Andromeda cleaned up in Topaz Detail3 to show the Dust Lanes, the dark areas.
My tracking was slightly off so the stars are not as sharp as I would like.
#2 Jupiter, this is the first shot of Jupiter I've been able to show the Red & White bands.
Again nowhere as sharp as I would like it to be. I'm learning. PP in Lightroom & Topaz Detail3
