Has anyone used the newer editing program called perfectly Clear(by athentech co.). Will automatically correct underexposures, overexposures, noise, contrast problems etc. in one click pixel by pixel. Many pros are using it to pre-edit their photos before editing their favs in ps,lightroom to expedite their workflow. Your opinions on it?

No i haven"t tried it. I assume that steve G in his posts about perfectly clear is using the newest version of it. Even when i downloaded some videos on it from athentech i saw that in making picture corrections the skies were blown out. But for now i will continue to do my processing in lr5 and bulk process using the sync mode as needed. Thanks.

I tried the trial version, and I wasn't that impressed. I can do everything I need with PS and Lr.

I think many pros are getting something to promo it. Too expensive for what it does.

mdorn, thanks for your advice as me thinks the pros who probably are getting it for zero to promote it to make a few bucks. I agree with you on this. I"m disappointed in some of the pros that i follow really do not give this software a workout on hundreds of images before recommending it to their followers. They lose credibility when they do this. Thanks!!

Lightroom has an "Auto Tone" in the Library module and "Auto" in the Develop module. You can apply it to a single photo or a bunch.

When you install Lightroom, Adobe give you an option to automatically send them data on how you use Lightroom. During an on line seminar lead by an Adobe employed guru, he said that their data shows an "amazing" number of "pros" use it a lot.

For quick edits, I'll use the LR auto button and then tweak a few sliders if the highlights are blown out or the shadows hide too much detail.

It looks good, but I'm always suspicious of programs and plug-ins that do things automatically. What's "perfect" to the programmers might not be perfect to me. It's not cheap, either.

I would be leery of any program that alleges to automatically make N changes. The program must have some eye to know what the conditions were when you took the shot. In all honesty I would prefer tickle the sliders so the image is what I saw.

I may have access to the chauffeured driven limo, but I still want to drive the car. :) :)
