Pouring down rain here, so I decided to start a new project and invite participants. I pulled this Iris from the archives and pushed it through PSE12 and Macphun Intensify Pro. Two images, original and my pp rendition of a pen & ink sketch with dramatic coloring. All are welcome if you you feel like playing around some please feel free to share with us your work. Thanks in advance. Downloads furnished.
The problem here is I love, love, love the original, Jim :) The shapes and the light are breathtaking!
But since you insist :) A bit of Nik Color Efex midnight filter + crop.
Oh and I'm so glad you decided to take the challenge; thank you for the compliments on the original, but I love, love, love your rendition as well. Thanks so much for playing along. :-D

I think your original photo is very beautiful Jim, gorgeous colour and light. So I have had a little play and gone a little mad, hope you don't mind. :D
Well now, that crop really works doesn't it! I think it helps to really bring the subject forward. Good job and I thank you for joining in.
Jim, it's hard to top a shot as pretty as your original. But by the strangest coincidence, I just happened upon a similar iris in Martian's garden...
Oh I really gotta get me some of that fertilizer that your Martian uses. Very nice, thanks for joining in the fun and sharing with us. I love it.

Mind? I love it! This is what I was hoping for was a lot of you talented folks playing around with this and giving it all the drama and or fantasy it deserves. Thanks so much. :-D
Well Jim, you caught me in my Sketch Phase of processing, so here it is as a drawing.
Well as we used to say in the navy shipmate, "Not too shabby! Bravo Zulu" I hope you don't get over this Sketch Phase too soon, 'you have many miles to go before you sleep' or changes phases as it were. :-D
