I'm a fan of the landscape and the ethereal red light adding to the overall effect. If you do not mind, why the red and which stacking program did you use and why?

Red light for several reasons, red rock-red light, red light keeps my night vision intact. Only 3 frames used the red light painting effect. I wasn't happy with any of the 3 shots individually but combined I ended up with a nice result. All processed in LR and then to StarStax and back to LR.

Thanks for commenting.

Hmmm... just noticed that a lot of detail in the rocks looks blown out. Hopefully it is just this monitor.

I've use StarStax before and had a problem with an image so I contacted them. Very nice people. Thanks for the info and keep posting here! S-

The depth/saturation of red at first put me off....seriously so....but I'vevcome back several times and now find I like the profoundly surreal grip of this image. If anything, the sky is almost too dense with trails.

You might consider changing the red to either black or a brown color to prevent competition between the red and the star tracks for attention. Interesting setting and good job with camera position.

I was also thinking the trails were too dense. The Milky Way does not come through with this one and I was debating only using the 4 or 5 red rock photos but blanking out the stars on all but one so the Milky Way shines through in all its glory.

Maybe next week after I finish getting my show ready for this weekend.
