I was cutting my pasture last week and noticed these white things on the ground .I was mad because I thought someone had left thrash there . To my surprise they were ice crystals and later on they are called Frost flowers. All had was my I phone and took these photos. Can someone help make them look a little better for I would like to enlarge them to 8x10 . Thanks

Yea me too. If you Google Frost Flowers the are other names rabbit ice,ice ribbons, etc. It will also explain how they are formed.

They are very fragile and thin. I just wish I had my camera. I left it on the kitchen counter. They are real interesting and 6 to 8 inches across. They were in the shade and within 30 feet maybe 20 of them.

It turned my mundane job into an adventure. They really are something to see. They are like snowflakes, everyone different.

i researched them a little more and it is kind of rare that they form. Conditions have to just right and at the right time of year. Thanks for the comment.
