Red Tailed Hawk today.

Found a mating pair of Red Tailed Hawks working on a nest today, pretty high up but I just had to take the shots anyway. Cropped-in so they can be seen here.

Thank you. I don't think these are partucularly good either, but I know where they are building their nest so I hope to get better shots of them soon. I only had a 300mm with me today because of the overcast skies, I will have my 500mm with me when I go back.

Probably won't be until May Molly. But I will be checking on them regularly as the nest is fairly close to one of the places I go to shoot the immature bald eagles that I have posted on here from time to time.

Well, I think they are great shots! ;)
All I have is a P&S, couldn't get real good ones of mine but someday I will have a decent lens & camera :)

I like seeing the pattern in the feathers when they are spread out as in image #2.

Thanks Pat. I wanted to get their backs too but at that height they wouldn't bank hard enough to show them to me. All the shots I got were from almost underneath them because of all the trees around. I only got about 2 minutes or less with clear sky between us.

This is my kind of photos. Nothing anymore interesting than nature. Thanks for sharing this nice shots with us. Today was rain all day here in central Texas. Not complaining as need it.
