Why are shots that look in focus on my computer blurry when I post them to UHH? SX50; shots are zoomed in, stabilized handheld, but not set on digital zoom. I didn't use continuous setting because subjects weren't moving. I wasn't using the finest resolution setting--could that be it? Thanks for any help you can give me.

IMHO the 1-st picture is not sharp because your focus point on the tree instead of bird eye, the 2-nd is sharp.

First shot looks like the focus might have been on the limb, not the bird's face.

I don't know why photos on your monitor look better focused.

As far as what I'm seeing here, the subject in the second image looks in focus, but in the first image, it appears you missed the focus slightly on the bird.

Do you use a tool that will show you where you are focused?

For Lightroom I can see where my focus actually was by using the showfocuspoint tool plugin....

No, I have Picasa only at this time. That would be a helpful tool to have.

And I don't understand why the first shot looks so much bigger on the website than it does when I open it on my computer.

Hmmm. For a moment I thought that you were talking about me. Your pics look pretty good from my house...

Yep, you got the focus point wrong on the first and dead on
on the second one.

This might help - these show the focus points used to create the image

If you are using a Nikon, you can open your images in View NX2 and it will show the focus points... I am not sure about the other camera manufacturers software.
