The Tetons are accessible from Jackson. But Yellowstone is closed except for snowcoach tours that get pricey and offer limited photo opp's due to restricted stops and cargo space. The north road in Yellowstone from Gardiner, MT to Cooke City, MT is open to vehicle traffic all winter, but its a 400 mile drive from Jackson to get to Gardiner.

I am going in January and yes, taking the snow coach in on the winter trip with snowmobiles and stuff. Very interested in hearing what folks have to say as well. We have heard the sleigh ride out to the elk preserve is a must-do.
