Supermoon

Last August I went to my local lighthouse hoping to get a super photo with the super moon in the background. I was one of more than a dozen people with the same idea. An air of gloom soon permeated the group when it became obvious the cloud cover would ruin the party. But my lady companion noticed that low to the horizon the clouds were thin and the moon was peeking through, but it was in the wrong place. I didn't want a shot of just the moon so I decided to get a piece of the shoreline on one edge. The seagull decided to add a bit of life and sense of scale to the scene. Not even close to the shot I planned but I'm glad I got something. Any thoughts?

As a perpetual student of photography, this would work, IMHO, for an absolutely perfect 'minimalist' photo. The teacher I now have gave us a lecture on 'minimalist' photography, this last Monday, and I would be proud to hand this image in for an example of a minimalist photo. I Googled it and this would be a whole lot better than most anything the WWW came up with.
Thanks for the post,
Marion

First thought, could You PP the photo to get what you want?
I don't have enough experience to help on that, but it might be an avenue.
Second thought, this photo is so close to being a great shot that I would try over and over. This is one not to give up on!
I know the big moons are once a month at best but the shot will be back, and when it is I might even spill some of my popcorn accidently on that rock!

Believe it or not, this is a JPEG image and I have yet to invest in processing software. It is slightly cropped for balance. The rock the bird is perched on is actually the edge of an island and not accessible for popcorn baiting. I thank you for your input. I try to go to that spot for every full moon or whenever I expect interesting conditions.

I'd love to, but, the teacher can access the metadata and point out that, 'that's not my image'. Wrong camera, ect.
My last teacher pointed put that one of the students used an image that was taken years ago. Didn't have to say more, 'cause the student knew who they were.   Oh, BTW, it wasn't me. :D
