Copyright on a D7000 & image authenification on a D200

I recently purchased a D7000 & you can input your name for copyright protection in one of the menus.
Where does this copyright input show up??
I also have a D200 & it has image authenification option in the menu with settings of on or off, but i cannot find any mention of that feature in the owners manual.
Since i have not done it yet, where does this copyright info show up, at the bottom of the image, in the image or?? Thanks Bill

Here's what I found.
Image Authentication
An Image authentication option has been added to the
setup menu (see page 115 of the D200 Guide to Digital
Photography). Photographs taken when this option is on
contain image authentication information, allowing alterations
to the image to be detected using Nikon’s optional
Image Authentication software. Image authentication
information can not be added after a picture is taken. Photographs taken with
image authentication on are marked by a icon on the second page of the
playback information display.
The image authentication menu contains the following options:
Option Description
Off (default) Image authentication information is not embedded in new photographs.
On Image authentication information is embedded in new photographs.
Image Transfer
Modifi cations to color profi les or IPTC information made in PictureProject during transfer
will be detected by Nikon’s Image Authentication software. Turn auto embed options
off when transferring photographs for use with Image Authentication.
Image Overlay
Image authentication information is not embedded in pictures created with image
overlay.

The copyright shows up in the EXIF data. I forget exactly where offhand.

Thanks. I found my D5100 has the comment also. I am not sure that is the same as the image authentication thing.

One odd thing about using the comment is that they didn't include the copyright symbol in the symbols. So I just used "(c) My Name". It can be up to 36 characters long.

I don't think it actually provides any protection and I am more flattered than concerned if someone wanted to use one of my photos but from now on it will be there in the Exif comments field.

It is in the D5100 manual. Search for "comment".

You may want to add the year, too.

Then I'd have to remember to change it each year!

:-D
