Combining photos from 2 cameras

Friend and I just returned from safari in Tanzania. Even though we both have bridge cameras, me an Canon SX50 and she a Nikon P510, we took some amazing photos with them. Does anyone know an easy way to combine best photos from both cameras into one folder? A better organizing program than Picasa which we have had difficulty with. Will upload a few favorites; we were lucky to see a cheetah chase and kill, leopards, 136 different birds. Amazing trip way beyond our expectations.

Why are pictures blurry on upload?

Picasa is not the issue, it's how you organize your images.

If you want them in the same folder, put them in the same folder. Sort by Date/Time Taken and you'll have a running story of what you saw.

I do this all the time with Picassa. Remove the memory card from first camera, insert card into computer. Let Picassa 'do its thing.' Ghen do the same wigh the card from the sevond camera. Do this twice, for each of your computers.

All you have to do is make sure they are all in JPG format, then copy (or cut) and save them to whatever folder you wish.

I can sort by date, but not by time. My photos show first, then the others. When I drag them into the order I want, the next time I go in or if I even go to a different folder, they're out of place. I guess I'll have to start again and try some different things. Thanks.

The dates in each of your cameras must both be correct. You can adjust them in the menu. Every camera is different but in mine it's in the set up menu. Or it could be that Picasa won't sort in capture time. Lightroom does.

Aha! We had our cameras set for Tanzania time, but one of us may not have adjusted correctly by one hour due to daylight savings time. Thanks.

From the Picasa Help Menu
From http://support.google.com/picasa/answer/15186?hl=en&ref_topic=1689653

Sorting photos

You can sort both the order of folders and albums in your Picasa folder list, as well as the way your photos are sorted within a folder or album.

Sort photos

To adjust the way your photos are sorted within a folder or album, please take the following steps:

From the folder list, click on the folder or album that you'd like to re-order.
Click the Folder menu or the Album menu.
Select Sort by.
Choose to sort your photos by the following options: Name, Date, or Size. To reverse the sort order of name (Z to A), date (oldest to newest) or size (largest to smallest), just hold down the Shift key when you make your selection.

To change the order of your photos manually, you can also drag and drop photos to your desired location.

Sort folders and albums

To change the order of your folders and albums in the folder list, follow these steps:

Click the View menu.
Select Folder View.
Choose from the following sorting options:
Creation date: Newest to oldest.
Recent changes: Most recently updated first.
Size: Largest to smallest, by the amount of hard drive space taken up.
Name: Alphabetically, A to Z.

You can also access the sorting options by clicking the pull-down arrow menu in the button bar above your folder list, next to the folder structure buttons.
