There are several sites that promote giveaways of software that is either one or two revisions old or a 'lite' version in the hopes that you will like enough to buy the latest full-scale version. I have not had experience with this site but have tried software form other types of sites with no issues. If you are interested in trying HDR software this may be the time.
It is a one day offer. Photomatix is an excellent program for multi image HDR and single image tone mapping.
I use an old Pro version and I downloaded this Photomatix Essentials to see if it was any good. Yes it is. No virus or other programs riding piggy back.
Usually, from the Photomatix site all their programs can be down loaded and used free of charge but finished images are blessed with a "Photomatix watermark" until they are paid for. There is no watermark on this version, its the real thing.

That program is normally $39.95. Sounds like a good deal. I recently tried out both the essentials version and the pro version & ended up purchasing the pro version. As Picdude pointed out - if you're interested in HDR this is a great chance to get the program.
