... 1st photo is ok, but, 2nd photo is great because relationships between homes and mountains portrays sizes in a way that's easier to relate

U did a great job using "the rule of 3rds" but would it not make a better photo with less foreground and more sky ???

if you tip the camera up you tip the building over the ideal is to keep the film plane as vertical as possible thus a view camera.

I too have pictures of the Vancouver BC lighthouse but not as nice as yours
